I Was Laid-off Due to COVID & Diagnosed with MS. Please Help with Rent!
My Story:
Before Covid-19, I was a single woman working hard to pay all my own bills, and I was doing a good job of taking care of myself. However, now I'm a single woman, and I'm out of work and am struggling just to get by. I was working at a hotel when Covid-19 hit and decimated the travel industry. Now, I've gone from being able to pay my bills comfortably to being completely behind on almost everything.
For a while, the unemployment benefits I was receiving were enough to get by, but now that those have been reduced, I'm struggling to even just put food on the table. I want to return to work more than anything, but I was also recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and haven't been able to return to work as a result. I miss my job, but until I can get treatment for my condition, I can't return to work. Also, if it turns out to be unmanageable, then I'll have to find a way to get on disability, which could also take a significant amount of time. In the meantime, I'm mainly worried about losing my home because I'm behind on my rent, but I'm also worried about losing my internet service as well.
If I'm going to be able to keep my home through this, then I'm going to need help to catch up on my rent. I also need to be able to keep my internet service because when the time come for me to return to work, I'll need to be able to search job listing websites. I would be beyond grateful to receive help with keeping my home, and I promise to do my best to pay it forward. Thank you to everyone in advance for your generosity and kindness in helping me keep my home.
