This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI just learned of your generous contribution to help my son and I. I was touched to my core by your sincere devotion to ours and other peoples causes on this great site that has helped so many. I'd like to express sincere gratitude first by saying that there is no power on this planet stronger than the energy generated when good people come together. Thank you so much. You have provided the means for this single mother to finish getting certified to become a pharmacy technician. I will now be able to feel like I can take a breath...a luxury I haven't felt in quite a while...and because of you- after I get certified-, I will be able to give life saving Covid19 vaccines to my community and beyond. Again, please accept my deepest gratitude for your generosity. To say we were overwhelmed with your generosity is truly an understatement. We will surely handle this gift with the utmost care to ensure that it is used wisely.

I'm Doing My Best to Climb Out of a Bad situation Due to COVID, but I Need Help Keeping Our Home!

My Story:

I'm a single mom raising my only son who is the light of my life and my entire world. I'll never forget when Covid-19 began. I was working as a waitress when I saw the news that it had started to spread here, and shortly after that our restaurant close down indefinitely. I was panicking and full of fear because my son and I had just begun to put our lives back together after fleeing an abusive situation. Suddenly, it felt like our lives had been ripped out from beneath us all over again.

Thankfully I managed to find work after I walked down to the local Walgreens and asked for a job doing anything at all. I mopped floors, stocked shelves, and did everything I could until finally I got to work the registers. Then, I was offered a part-time position to train as a pharmacy technician. I've been studying as much as I can to eventually become a full-time pharmacy technician so that I can take care of me and my son, but I have a long journey ahead. We're struggling to reach a point where we're self-sufficient, and we're so close I can almost just reach out and touch it. However, it still feels like we're just as close to losing everything. We're still behind on our rent from when I was out of work and working for minimum wage only part of the time. We've managed to get our balance down to a manageable place, but I'm worried that our landlords are losing patience with us and will attempt to evict us soon. That would be catastrophic for my son and I because we're so close to crawling back from the horrible situation we were in only months ago.

I'm a hard worker and will do anything for my son, so I know that I can finish my courses and eventually become a full-time pharmacy technician. However, I'm also not too proud to admit when we need help, and this is one of those moments where I know we can't make it without assistance. Genuinely, this would be lifesaving for us. I can't thank you all enough for even just taking the time to hear my story. I don't get many chances to tell it, so I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to understand what we've been through.
