This person has left the following thank you note:

Im at the library now and the only word I can think of is unbelievable. This grant is going to my car getting fixed and getting caught up on everything I had to let slide this past year. So many are in need and what you have given me will be paid forward to help someone else. When youre not in a position to take care of your needs is a very dark place. You have given me confirmation that people are good. Just with my little post here that there is light at the end of this tragedy that has hurt everyone in so many ways. Just to have peace of mind, and less stress, and know youre moving in the right direction with your help. Just amazing. Again, thank you is so minimal right now but it stems from my feet to my heart. I hope you all are in a good place as well. So many thanks. Holly Host

I Was a Cook for 35 Years Before COVID, but Now I Can't Afford My Rent & Need Help!

My Story:

I'm a single mother, and I raised three sons all on my own. They've given me two grandchildren total, and I couldn't be more thankful to have them all in my life. My family means everything to me, and I'm really proud to have raised three amazing sons. Prior to the pandemic, I worked as a cook for 35 years. I have a passion for it and have always been able to make enough money doing it to pay the bills, at least until now.

I've been out of work for almost a year now, and I've really struggled to keep up with my bills during that time. I haven't received unemployment payments since December, and since that time, I've fallen behind on my rent. At this point, I'm going to lose my home if I can't come up with the money that I owe on my rent. I'm asking for help with my rent in order to save my home in time for things to reopen.

The only work experience I have is cooking, so I don't really have any other choice but to wait until things like catering companies and restaurants reopen. I'm afraid that I'll lose my home while I'm wait, so getting this help would buy me the time that I need to get back to work. I'm on my own and can't rely on my family because they're all in the same situation as me and have mouths to feed as well. I would be incredibly grateful for this help, and I'll do my best to pay it forward when I'm able to. Thank you all so much for your generosity and compassion.
