It is overwhelming to think that you all would sacrifice something you either wanted or needed to ensure we are able to stay in our new home. It is tough to stay positive in the world that we live in today, but your contributions mean the world to us. We were almost at the end of our rope but to see that our application was funded by strangers makes us know there are still great people in the world. We are humbled and speechless by your generosity.
I'm an Essential Worker, but My Husband Lost His Job to COVID. Please Help Us with Our Mortgage!
My Story:
I'm a married mother of five, four of whom still live with us. We have three sons that live with us and another who is grown up and lives on his own in Connecticut. We also have a daughter that lives with us, and with all these men in the house, it's always nice to have her around for the sake of balance! We have two pets as well, a cat and a dog. We're a tight-knit family, and we love karaoke nights and game nights together.
My husband and I have always worked hard to provide for our children, and up until last week, he was working as a janitorial manager at the local outlet mall. He was laid-off due to cutbacks from the pandemic. I'm still employed, and I work for the county's assistance office helping the most vulnerable citizens in our area. When my husband was let go of, he was an hourly worker, so he lacked any benefits that would help in a scenario where he was laid-off. I'm still collecting an income, but my last paycheck was mailed and is delayed. Due to my husband being laid-off and the delay in receiving my paycheck, we're going to be late on our mortgage. I'm worried about the effect that this will have on our credit, and I'm worried about falling behind and staying behind after my husband lost his job.
I'm humbly asking for help with our mortgage payment because it'll keep us up to date on all of our bills and will allow us to maintain good credit as well. My husband is working hard on getting back to work, and I'm confident that he'll find work soon. However, until we start receiving his unemployment or until he gets back to work, we really need help if we're going to keep up with our mortgage. This help would really keep us out of a bad financial situation and would allow us to get through this pandemic without losing our home eventually. Thank you all for the consideration and kindness you've shown my family by taking the time to read our story.
