I'm a CNA at a Nursing Home, but I Lost Hours to COVID & Need Help with Rent Please!

My Story:

I'm a single mother of an amazing 3-year-old son. He's incredibly energetic and is very smart for his age as well. It's such a blessing to raise him and watch him grow. Truly, he's my entire reason for carrying on day in and day out. I work full-time as a CNA at a nursing home and am considered an essential worker. In addition to my job, I recently enrolled in school to begin my journey towards becoming a sonographer.

Despite being an essential worker, my hours have been cut back significantly at my job. I applied for government assistance but was denied due to my previous income being too high, so we have yet to receive any help in that regard. Also, I'm currently in a battle with my son's father over him paying child support, and that has yet to be resolved as well, so I'm currently the only income supporting my child. All of these different factors have led to me falling behind on our rent, and we really need help if we're going to catch up.

My landlord's patience is wearing thin now, and I'm worried that any day now we'll receive a notice to pay or vacate. Right now, I'm terrified of being evicted because making sure that my child has a roof over his head is my biggest priority. I've always had a hard time reaching out for help, but I know that if I keep trying to deal with this on my own, then my child will be homeless, and I just can't allow that to happen. This one-time assistance would give us the security and stability that we need to make it through this pandemic. I'll be able to stay in school and will eventually move to a higher paying position thanks to this generous help. On behalf of my son and I, I want to thank everyone who helps us for your generosity and kindness during our greatest hardship.
