We Were Forced to Move After Our Landlord Sold Our Home, Then We Lost Income to COVID. Please Help!
My Story:
I am a married mother of one lovely 15-year-old girl and 3 handsome boys aged 13, 8, and 5 years old. My daughter loves Kpop music, drawing, making arts and crafts, and playing Minecraft. My 13-year-old son loves to play sports, play video games, and do his schoolwork. My 8-year-old son loves to build anything with his Legos and other objects; he loves to play video games, and he loves cooking. My 5-year-old loves to read and reads way above his reading level already! I'd say we're a pretty typical family who just love to spend time together, and we've always got each other's backs.
This past year has been really difficult for us. In the middle of the pandemic, we were forced to move out of the home that we had lived in for three years because the company we were renting from sold it. We had to move into a more expensive rental, and that's been really difficult to manage on top of the pandemic. My husband is a full-time essential worker, but that hasn't stopped him from having his pay reduced as a result of the pandemic. It's not an ideal situation, but he can't quit his job to find another one. On top of both of those situations, I had to close the self-employed business I had been doing for five years. I had just restarted it in October of last year after having surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. All three of these factors have come together to keep us behind on our rent, and we really need help if we're going to catch up in time to keep our home.
Despite all of the trials we've been through lately, we still have faith and hope that we can make it through them. I'm about to begin seasonal employment that will help supplement our income to make sure we don't fall behind on rent. Then, once my husband's income has returned, we'll be fully in the clear. This help would make sure that we get to the point of stability we were at before all of this. More than anything though, it would keep a roof over our children's heads, and at the end of the day, that's all that matters. For that, my whole family would like to thank everyone who supports us from the bottom of our hearts. We know how important this help would be for us, so we want to give back to a family in need like ours when we can.
