After a Workplace Injury Kept Me Out of Work, I Need Help Keeping My Power on!
My Story:
I'm a recently separated grandmother, and I recently relocated away from my husband to Virginia. I thought to move here because I wanted to be closer to my grandchildren who are my entire world. I have one grandson and two granddaughters who have always kept me going through life. I also figured that being with my family would help me to better restart my life. The week after I moved, the Covid-19 pandemic began and derailed all my efforts to begin my life again.
I haven't really been able to be around my family as of recently, and that's been really hard on me emotionally. However, I'm also really struggling financially, not as the result of Covid-19, but rather as the result of a workplace injury I sustained recently. I work for Amazon in a warehouse, and two months ago now I was clearing my line when a box flipped back on my hand and seriously injured me. I use my hands to make a living, so I've been out of work since that incident. To make matters worse, I still haven't received worker's compensation yet, and I don't know when or if I will. Being out of work with no income coming in has gotten me behind on a lot of my bills, and right now I'm really worried about having my power shut off.
I plan on going back to work very soon, but until then, and until I can collect workman's comp, I really need help if I'm going to keep my lights on. This would do a lot to help me catch up on my other bills as well. Also, I can't understate how much this would do for my financial situation, but I also know how much this help would mean to me emotionally and mentally as well. I've been isolated, like most people, because of the virus, so to know that there are people out there willing to help me would boost my spirits a lot. Thank you for taking the time to consider my story and for your compassion and support as well.
