I Was Out of Work Caring for My Sick Daughter & Need Help Catching Up on a Power Bill Please!
My Story:
I'm an engaged mother of one truly amazing daughter. She's 2 years old and is an amazing young girl. I have a large family, and I feel very blessed that she as her cousins to play with and being around constantly as well. I recently graduated college and am working from home full-time in customer service, and my soon-to-be husband worked full-time in construction prior to the pandemic.
In December, my daughter was severely ill and had to be hospitalized, forcing me to take over two weeks of unpaid leave from work to care for her. In addition to that, my fiance has been out of work for months, so we effectively had no income other than the small amount of unemployment my fiance receives. Before my daughter got sick, we were barely making it on my paychecks and the unemployment benefits we were getting but going without my paycheck has caused us to get behind on our bills. I know that we can still manage some of our upcoming bills, but we'll need help if we're going to get completely clear of this bad situation. Specifically, I'm asking for help with our electric bill because if we can get that paid, then we'll be able to cover rent.
We're doing our best to scale down to a smaller more affordable apartment, but if we get evicted, it will make it impossible for us to get into a new apartment. I know that we'll be able to keep our home if we can get one of our smaller bills taken care of, so this would be a huge help to us. This would take a tremendous load off of our shoulders and would help us dodge a really dangerous situation. For that, we want to thank everyone who helps us in advance for the generosity and kindness you've shown us in our time of need.
