User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeWow! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to helping keep me in my home! I am humbled and grateful. Every dollar that you gave me will go a long way as I'm getting back on my feet. In fact, I have a job interview today that I'm very confident in and I wouldn't be able to go to it without your help. I'm touched beyond words and I cannot express how much it means to me that you, without even knowing me, were so willing to help maintain my well being. Your thoughtfulness is a gift I will always treasure. This has been a challenging time and I appreciate you so much. God bless!

I'm a Bartender Who Lost Work to COVID, and I Need Help Keeping My Home!

My Story:

I'm a young single man, and I moved to Texas about a year ago now. I've been working full-time since I was a teenager in foster care, and I've been in the restaurant industry for 8 years now. I love working with people, so naturally I decided to become a bartender! In my free time, I enjoy biking, painting, and I am working towards getting my real estate license.

Covid-19 has completely shut down my industry, and I haven't been able to work since it hit. I really miss my job, and unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a new one because everything is still pretty much shut down or closed for good. Between my rent, my car payment, and my insurance payment I am struggling to keep up with all my expenses. I'm having trouble putting food on the table right now, and I have nowhere else to turn to. I've been homeless before, and I don't ever want to go back to that.

That is why I'm asking for help with my rent. I'm facing the real possibility of eviction, and I need a little more time to get back to work. I'm still working on getting my real estate license, which will hopefully open up more job opportunities for me. I know that I can get back on my feet with just a little bit of assistance to buy me some more time. Thank you for helping me through this difficult time, and I promise to never forget it and to always give back to those in need.
