Our Car Broke Down and We Need Help Keeping Our Home!

My Story:

I am a married mother of three children. Our oldest son is 29, a U.S Marine, and is currently working on his bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. Our middle son is 18 and just moved away to college last week. Our youngest just began his senior year of high school; he is 17 and wants to go to college to study art. I am in the last semester of college to receive my associate degree in Human & Social Services. My mother lives with us, and she is on full medical disability. My husband of 18 years works as a satellite technician in mobile home parks and nursing homes throughout the state.

We normally do not need assistance in paying our monthly bills, but we do live paycheck to paycheck. We had a vehicle that we owned outright but had high mileage and the tire erosion was going out making it dangerous to drive. The cost of the repair was more than the vehicle was worth, and it was beginning to have transmission problems as well. We had to trade it in for a new (to us) vehicle and had to use our rent money for the down payment. We will be able to afford the monthly payments, but we are just unable to recover to pay the past due rent, as well as keep up with the payments.

We need assistance with one month of our rent. Our landlord has agreed to work with us, and he has extended our due date and has even waived the late fee. If we do not pay the past due amount by the date given to us, we will be evicted and not have a place to live.

This funding would bring us current with all of our bills and relieve the worry we are feeling now. I will be getting a job as soon as I graduate with my degree, which will give us some breathing room with the bills and allow us to save up for these types of events in the future. This would allow us to focus on graduating and gaining employment, which is best for our family in the long run. Thank you all for your generosity.
