Both My Children had COVID-19 and I Had to Miss Work. Please Help Us Pay Our Power Bill.
My Story:
I am a single mother of two boys, both of whom are very energetic. They like to play Fortnite and Minecraft when they are not helping me take care of our horses, donkeys, and chickens. Currently, I work full time as a manager at our local McDonald's.
I usually do not have any trouble paying for our basic needs, but recently both of my kids tested positive for Covid-19 less than 2 weeks after returning to school. They are on mandatory quarantine for a few weeks, and I have to stay home to take care of them because they are too young to be home alone. I do not have any family around who can watch them either, so I have to take off work to take care of them. This lost income has made it difficult to pay some of my bills.
Specifically, I need help in order to pay my electric bill. I had planned on paying it with my last paycheck but after having to miss hours of work, my check will not even be enough to cover it. I have to have it paid soon or else my power will be turned off.
This funding would allow me to keep my electricity on for my children while they try to recover from the virus. I have greatly underestimated Covid-19 but after seeing it firsthand, and I regret it severely. From now on, I plan to do my best to protect others and to stay home. Your help would make a long-lasting impact on my little family and it would give us the peace of mind that we need right now by ensuring we do not fall into the cycle of poverty that has ensnared so many.
