A Family of Six Need Help with an Electric Bill
My Story:
We are a married couple with four beautiful and smart teenagers. We also have a family dog we all love playing and cuddling with; his name is Stinky. I was working as a salesclerk at a local bakery and my husband does maintenance work as a contractor. We are a large family that lives paycheck to paycheck and have not been able to put any money towards savings.
Recently, my unemployment was cut off and now we are struggling to pay our electric bill. We are pretty far behind on it and we are very worried about losing internet access and power. Currently, we are very far behind on our payments because we have also been struggling to pay rent and have been reduced to choosing between having a roof over our heads or having power and no roof over our heads. Therefore, we are asking for help with our electricity bill.
All four of our children are currently doing school online, so losing power would make that impossible. I do not want them to lose track of their studies because education is really the only chance that anyone in this country has in regard to becoming successful or more successful. My husband and I want to make sure that our children's needs are adequately met, but because of the pandemic that has become extremely difficult. Any help at all would demonstrate to my children the necessity of helping those in need. Someday, when they are through school, I want my children to be able to look back on a time when they saw their family struggling and I want them to think about all of the people who gave generously; I want that to be motivation for them to do the same. Thank you all for your time and consideration.
