Coronavirus: Single Mother Needs Help with Rent
My Story:
I am a single mother that recently relocated myself and my children to another state. My children are ages two and six and they are truly the most amazing kids a mother could ever wish for. We had to relocate because we were fleeing a domestic abuse situation. Thankfully, we are safe again, but unfortunately I was laid off due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
We are trying our absolute best, but we don't have much help, as we are very far from our family and friends. Being laid off has put us into a dire situation; my savings have diminished, and we need this grant to help to pay our rent next month. I am currently enrolled in college and I am looking for part-time work and daycare. All of that takes some time to get set up especially with being in a new location, but once I can find work, we will be back on our feet again.
I am afraid if we do not pay our rent, then we may end up having to move back home which is the last thing I want to do because we are trying to avoid a dangerous situation. I cannot subject my kids to that environment again and I want to give them the best life that I possibly can, but I cannot do that if we are forced to move back. I know that if we can get the help that we need we can move on with our lives and put the past behind us. Thank you all for helping me, my family, and so many other families in need. You are all truly making the world a better place for everyone.
