I want to extend my sincere gratitude for your contribution. I would have never imagined that I would have been someone to experience Domestic Violence and I am grateful to be here. I am so grateful to be alive. These past few years have been pretty difficult but I am a survivor. Thank you for being apart of my story of survival. I am faithful believer that God is in the midst of our darkest moments. Thank you for your help as I continue towards my path of healing.

Coronavirus: I am a Domestic Abuse Survivor Trying to Get Back on Her Feet

My Story:

I am a single 28-year-old, and I am the first in my family to go to college and graduate. I am a survivor of domestic violence as well. I battled all of 2018 and 2019, finally getting out of that horrible situation last year. It was a struggle to leave, and I endured some of the hardest times I have ever faced. I have been alone since I was 19 years old, but that has just made me more resilient. The hardship that I have faced has taken a toll on me that I have yet to fully recover from, and the pandemic has set me back even further.

Finding a job after leaving my ex was difficult, and I finally found one only to have it taken away thanks to the pandemic. Since losing my only source of income, I have been really struggling to pay my bills. While I have found some work to do on the side, it is simply not enough to meet my needs month to month, and I have fallen behind on some of my payments, specifically my car insurance and my rent. Therefore, I am asking for your help with my rent and car insurance payments to get caught back up with all of my bills.

This funding would bring me current on all of my bills, and it would bring me the sense of stability that I have been searching for. Throughout my struggle to get out of the domestic abuse situation that I was in, I lost a car and a child. I know what it means to struggle. I also know what it means to help someone when they are struggling and know that I can have a positive impact on someone else's life every single day that I choose to. I promise that if I get the help I need now, then I will return the favor ten-fold when I get the opportunity. Thank you all for your consideration and compassion.
