This person has left the following thank you note:
Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am for the consideration and funding of my request for rental assistance. I cried when reading the email telling me of the good news, and then cried again when I told my children last night. The news comes at a time when I'd almost given up. There is no worse feeling as a mother than not being able to provide for your children. I've been up countless nights praying and seeking guidance for my next steps. The generosity shown to me will allow my family to stay in our rental home! Thank you for reading my plea for help. Thank you for donating to my family. Thank you to Modest Needs for having this wonderful program for families like mine to reach out for help. Thank you for reminding my children and I that the generosity of others is still there. It is inspiring me to keep working hard and not give up. With much love and gratitude! Lori
We Need Help Avoiding Eviction After I Lost Hours to COVID!
My Story:
I am a single mom of three great children. My oldest attends University of Pittsburgh and is studying Sociology. My middle son is 17 years old and is an amazing artist who loves to create beautiful illustrations. My youngest is 13 years old and loves to play softball. I work full-time at as a Medical Scribe at an oncology center and have been there for 14 years now. I also have been picking up extra hours at a family practice office doing data entry when they need it.
Normally, I barely make enough to meet financial obligations, and we have always lived paycheck to paycheck. I do not get child support either. My hours were reduced due to Covid-19 for about four weeks and that set my financial situation on a downward spiral. As a result, I defaulted on a payment plan that I had put in place on a medical bill for which they are now garnishing my wages. I have two more paychecks before the garnishment will be done. My son is chronically ill and receives treatment every 6 weeks with more serious treatment every 6 months. He is on 4th line treatment and is looking at surgery as final alternative to treating his chronic ailment. His monthly medicines are always the priority. I need help if I am going to pay our rent for the upcoming month.
This assistance will allow my children to stay in their home. It will bring me current and allow me to start fresh again. I continue to work full-time and pick up extra hours doing other jobs where I can. This assistance would be a lifesaver to my family and I, and we would be so grateful for your help. Thank you for considering us for your donation.
