Before COVID, I Moved My Family and Now I'm Unemployed and Need Help Keeping Our Home!

My Story:

I'm a single mother who recently moved from California to Nevada prior to the pandemic. I have no family or friends except my daughter who is my pride and joy. She is 20 years old and is recovering from a traumatic experience in which she was almost human trafficked. She wakes up in terrors and will not leave the house due to this trauma. My cousin moved in with my daughter as she is the one that saved her from that horrible nightmare. Because of this, my daughter will not let my cousin leave her side. I thank God every day for keeping both of them safe from harm.

As we moved from California to Nevada at the beginning of February 2020, I was blessed to find a job and a great place to call home. I was making enough to pay the rent and to pay for essentials, but then all of a sudden life came to a complete halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. My savings account has diminished, and I became unemployed. Currently, I find myself and my family in desperate need of help with paying our rent.

This pandemic has ruined a lot of peoples' lives and livelihoods, including mine. However, I know that if we all stick together during this crisis, then we will make it through to the other side. These are difficult times that we are facing, but if we all lend a helping hand, we will all be able to rebuild together. Truly, my biggest concern is being able to provide for my daughter while she recovers from her traumatic experience, and I cannot do that if I can't keep a roof over our heads in the meantime.
