I Can't Afford Childcare so I Lost Hours at Work. Please Help Me Keep the Lights on for My Kids!
My Story:
I am a single mother of two small children. My 7-year-old is as sweet as can be and is an avid piano player, and my boy is a graceful little 'hurricane' as I like to call him. He is 4 years old and is filled with energy and happiness. I am loving every bit of staying home with them during the pandemic. Also, my mother, who lives with us, is a very gentle soul, and she has not been working throughout this pandemic due to her health. When I am not caring for my mother, I am a manager at Taco Bell. However, I have dreams and aspirations beyond the fast food industry; I want to be an Air traffic Controller in the near future.
The pandemic has affected my family in an extreme way financially speaking, and has put a hold on our lives in every regard. My children are out of school, causing me to reduce my work hours to care for them. Currently, I do not have enough for childcare; therefore, I am obligated to stay home more often to care for my small children. Thankfully, my mother helps take care of them to the best of her ability, and I could not thank her more for it. i feel horrible because before the pandemic, I was able to care for my family and was able to provide basic necessities. But after the pandemic, I must pick and choose the expenses that are most important for our well-being. I am frustrated and worried because I must put some living expenses aside in order to purchase daily-use items. Currently, I could use your help paying my utility bill.
I have had countless nights constantly worrying about the bills that are owed and my inability to pay them. I was not able to save for an emergency before the pandemic which has ultimately affected me during this crisis. With this funding, I will be able to stay in relatively good standing with all of my bills. This will also set an example for my children, showing them that we should always be grateful towards help from our community, and that if our community requires help, we should be happy to assist. Thank you all for your consideration and for your kindness.
