Coronavirus: A Single Father Needs Rent Help
My Story:
I am a single father who is 49 years old and in a good health. I enjoy my job as an equipment operator and event coordinator. Unfortunately I was laid off due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
I have applied for unemployment benefits and several grant applications are processing but have not received as of yet. A few of my essential bills are past due. Also, I do enjoy volunteering for several organizations if I have the time and resource to do so. This pandemic situation has affected me to the point where I am not able to provide expense for my daughter's living. She is 18 years old and was living with my parents, but was forced to move back in with me after my mother contracted coronavirus. I do not want to lose my apartment or anything for that matter. I need Modest Needs help paying my rent and electric bill.
This grant will help me tremendously and hopefully enable my daughter to move back to New Orleans with me. With the help from this grant I will be able to pay my past due rent and utility bills. In the meantime I will be diligent and finding more work and I won't lose my apartment or be evicted. Thank you.
