Coronavirus: A Hardworking Bartender Needs Help With Utilities
My Story:
I am a single woman who has a service dog and three rescue cats. I worked full-time as a bartender until I was unable to after Louisiana closed the bars due to Covid-19. Being that I live paycheck to paycheck, the loss of income has put me in a precarious position, and I cannot pay for my phone bill, for my electricity bill, or for my car insurance. I am also spending a lot of money on mental health services and medication because I am not eligible for Medicaid. Therefore, I am asking for a grant to help with my utility bills. I simply cannot pay these bills right now and I do not want to be totally disconnected from society during this quarantine.
This funding would allow me to continue my search for employment uninhibited, thereby allowing me to get back on my feet. I am really struggling right now too because I am having trouble paying for vaccines for my dog and I want to be able to take care of all of my pets adequately. With a little help I can weather the current storm and hopefully get back to work soon! Thank you all for your generosity and consideration for my application.
