Disabled Spouse Needs To Be Able To Get In The Bath Tub
My Story:
I live with my husband who worked in maintenance in a private school until he developed a rare neurological, degenerative disease. He is in a wheelchair now and cannot walk at all. He has to lift his legs with his hands to move them. He also has epilepsy and some cognitive issues which he has had since birth. He is now on disability. I taught and coached at the same school he worked at for 18 years but currently, I work full time in the office. This makes it easier to get off of work to take him to his medical appointments.
We live pretty much pay check to pay check and do not have extra funds to pay for extras. At one point, we were paying three different hospital bills along with his current medical bills. We are slowly paying them down or off but just do not have any extra funds right now. My husband cannot take a bath or shower because he cannot get in and out of the tub. We need Modest Needs financial assistance to purchase an accessible shower so my husband can use it. We cannot get this done unless we get some help paying for it.
This would be such a blessing to him. He has served others most of his life, despite his handicap, and he has worked hard. Right now, he is able to stay home alone while I'm at work. He has learned how to maneuver himself around and meet his own needs except for the ability to shower. He just wants to be able to do that on his own. Thank you kind people.
