This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeMy Name is Laurie Langenderfer and am sitting here in tears with a loss for words. I am truly grateful to each and every person who has donated to help me with my situation. Larry was a GREAT man, husband of little over 20 years who fought with all he could to challenge Myleiod Dysplastic Syndrome that advanced into Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Due to my age I am not able to collect widow benefits for 6 1/2 more years. I know somehow I will make it through this and it is people like all of you that helped. I have in the past always been the 'helper' to anyone that needed it and will once again be that person. I believe in paying it forward and will do so as soon as I am able, even if it is only a little bit. Cancer is a very evil thing and I pray someday there are cures for every kind. Again I THANK EVERYONE and this organization for this, what I feel is a true act of human kindness.

I Lost My Husband to Cancer. I Took Time Off To Care for Him. Please Help Me Keep My Electricity!

My Story:

I am 53 years old and lost my husband of 20 years to a rare blood cancer after a 23 month long, courageous battle. I do work full time but when he passed, I had to adjust without his social security and pension income.

I am not old enough to collect widow benefits. I live paycheck to paycheck from my job. I had to take a leave of absence from work to care for him and get him to blood transfusions, treatments and dialysis during his last stages from work. After his passing I did return to work but am struggling to get back on track. I also am currently seeking a second part time job to manage bills but have not had any luck yet. I need Modes Needs help with the electric bill which is due to be shut off soon if I don't pay.

Help with this bill will give me the chance to focus on other bills and it will allow me to search stress free for another part time job to keep the things afloat. Your help would keep my lights on as I still grieve the loss. Thank you.
