Thank you so much for all of your help with getting caught up on our rent and helping us continue to have a home to live in. God bless each and every one of you that blessed our lives by helping us... You are all such wonderful and caring people!
Moving is Hard on a Fixed Income. Please Help Us Catch Up
My Story:
I am a 43 year old woman that is disabled and I live with my aunt Karen. She is a 70 year old woman that is retired and also receives a monthly Social Security check and has been diagnosed with early signs of dementia and is senile.
We both receive enough money each month, together, to afford our monthly rent, utilities, and most other basic needs. However we cannot afford anything more than this and we often rely on food stamps and the local food bank to have enough food each month. We moved into our home a few months ago because we could not afford to rent any place to live with just our individual income, alone. We did not realize, upon moving in, that there would be required deposits to get water, electric, and gas service. We also were unaware that we had to pay an $800 deposit to our new landlord ($400 at move-in and $400 with the second rent payment.) We have been trying to get caught up but have been unable to find any help yet. Our new landlord has been very understanding, but has run out of patience and is about to file for eviction through the courts.
We need Modest Needs' help to pay our late rent and late fees. We will be evicted and completely homeless without your help. This one time assistance will get us back on track and allow us to live monthly, without the fear of late fees piling up in a domino effect. Thank you so much for your help.
