This person has left the following thank you note:
I am overwhelmed and so grateful for all the donations to help me! I am amazed at how quickly this happened from generous and kind-hearted people who are willing to help, it is like a miracle to me. This will help me so much and allow me to finally get back on my feet after so many hard breaks, it is truly a new beginning. It gives me even more hope and strength that things will start turning around now, and I hope to be able to give back someday the way that I have been blessed. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly and sincerely. I never gave up my faith, and I thank God and I thank you all. The break that I was praying for came through!
I Lost My Boyfriend AND My Hip. The Surgery Put Me Behind, and Now I'm Going to Lose My Home. Help!
My Story:
I am 'young' senior citizen at almost 59 years old. I am a building substitute for students, I work with ages K-5th, mostly in reading. I live here in Roseville, Michigan and enjoy cooking very much, art projects and gardening. I live by myself but have family in Ohio. I have one cat named Poptart.
I had put off my hip replacement surgery for about 2 years due to being a caretaker for my partner. When he died I was suddenly forced to move out of his home, so I had no choice but to keep on working under so much pain and was on a cane for about a year. Last summer I finally had the surgery but had to face lost wages for about 4 months until I could get back to work. I am no longer in physical pain but it was a huge blow trying to get caught up and still is financially by myself. Also after my surgery my car became irreparable so now I still am without a car and have to get rides to and from work, the doctor, pharmacy, etc. But now, on top of everything else, my landlord has told me that if I can't get my rent current, I'm going to be evicted. If I get evicted, I have no idea what I'm going to do, especially in my condition.
Having your help would really allow me to move ahead and get a break to pick myself up and try to get situated again. I am in debt from using cards to pay bills and would really like to continue working and paying my utilities and getting a low cost vehicle to be able to be independent again. Things became such a mess after the death of my boyfriend and the loss of my vehicle and the major hip replacement surgery. This would help me so much and give me hope and help to be able to continue working and supporting myself, and being able to work with my reading students. I am trying so very hard and will continue to persevere however I can. thank you so much for your help.
