This person has left the following thank you note:
As I sit here writing this, I try to hold back my tears, to know that there are so many good hearted people that are willing to help people like me and others that are struggling. Words cant describe how thankful I am to all the donors that help fund my application. Knowing that this will help me get back on track and that I don't have to worry about being evicted from my home, gives my kids and I peace of mind. Again I am truly grateful and hope that one day I can also help others like I am being help today. Thank You
My Ex Vandalized My Car. I Had to Fix That & Get Order of Protection So I Couldn't Pay Rent. Help!
My Story:
I am a single mother of 2 children who are VERY far apart. I have a 21 year daughter that is attending college and then I also have a 7 year old son that is 1st grade. I work full-time for a physician group, doing administration work, and I enjoy reading and spending as much time as I can with my kids and family.
Like nearly everybody I guess, I've been living paycheck to paycheck for the past few months, just making enough to pay my bills and food. The biggest problem I've had is actually related to my son's dad (my ex). He really didn't want our relationship to end, but he was abusive, and I couldn't stay with him. When I finally ended the relationship permanently, he came over while we were asleep and vandalized my car because he knew I needed it for work & he wanted me to have to depend on him. Well, I fixed the car, but the cost of the deductible AND the order of protection I had to get against him meant I couldn't pay rent this month, and now I have an eviction notice and a court date. If I can't pay my past due rent plus late fees when I go to court, my son and I will be homeless, thanks to my abusive ex. Then we'll have to move in with him, and he'll win. I don't want that to happen because he's just too dangerous.
Please help me and my son not to have to live with this abusive man just to keep a roof over our heads. If you could please help with rent, you'd keep that from happening. Thank you, thank you, thank you for anything you can do to help us. This really is an emergency.
