Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

On behalf of my family & I , I would like to thank all of the donors for assisting us with our electric bill. This has allowed me to breathe a little knowing my electric wont be cut off. When I get back on my feet Ill be sure to pay it forward and assist those in need during hard times.

I'm a Single Dad & Veteran. I'm Behind on My Power Bill & if I Lose Power, I'll Likely Lose My Kids.

My Story:

I am both a veteran and a 28 year old single father of two amazing kids: an 8 year old son who loves to play soccer, and a 10 year old daughter who loves being a cheerleader. I served our country for six years and was honorably discharged back to civilian life. Since then, I've been working as subhauler - basically, an independent OTR truck driver. When companies need something moved and their regular drivers aren't available, they call me.

Until lately, I haven't had any trouble finding work as a subhauler. People always need something moved. But for some reason, I haven't had a job since the end of November. Work just suddenly dried up. Now, I'm looking for new work, but I'm 60 days behind on all of my bills. I've been able to make payment arrangements with everybody, including my landlord, EXCEPT our electric company. They've just been unwilling to work with me at all. I'm scheduled to be disconnected in 10 days (on February 5th), and if we lose power, it's very likely I'll lose my children.

Would you please help a hard-working veteran and father to pay his electric bill while he looks for work so he can keep his kids? If you'll please help me, then I can guarantee you that I'll have a job by the time the next bill comes due, so this won't happen again, I promise. Most important, though, if you can help me just this once, you'll be helping to keep our family together. Thank you.
