I'm on Bedrest Due to a High-Risk Pregnancy. The Income Loss Is Going to Cost Us Our Home.
My Story:
I am a mother of two amazing children, an 8 year old daughter and a ten year old son. My family is about to get a little bigger! I am currently 32 weeks pregnant with a baby boy due March 10, 2020. Unfortunately, because I have Systemic Lupus, the pregnancy is EXTREMELY high risk due, so I have had to be on extremely strict bed rest since 20 weeks of pregnancy. I obviously haven't been able to work at this time, so for the last several months, my long-time partner has been our sole breadwinner. He's doing everything he can to keep the home together, but we're a paycheck to paycheck family even when we have TWO incomes. The loss of my income has been a real issue for us, and we're struggling like never before.
My family needs Modest Needs' help paying for our rent. We've been able to most of our bills since I went on bed rest, but right now, we're only making enough to pay the rent one time every two months, thanks to this income loss. We're now two months behind on rent, and unless we can find some help, I fear I'm going to be recovering from a complicated pregnancy and a difficult delivery (I'm having a C-Section and Tubal Ligation) in a car or shelter. That's not really an exaggeration. We've reached out to other organizations that are supposed to help people in situations like this, but they're all out of money. So I'm here begging you to please help us catch up on rent, so that our landlord won't evict us, and I can bring my new son home to an actual home. Our deadline is February 1, and we're not sure what we're going to do without your help. Thank you for reading.
