Single Mother Needs Your Help to Stay Warm This Winter

My Story:

I am a widowed mom of two beautiful children, ages 19 and 20. My son is a freshman at SNHU studying environmental science & conservation biology. My daughter has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and recently graduated from high school. She is currently trying to figure out what she will do next given the limitations of her physical disability. I have always worked hard and have raised my children alone and I have never asked for any type of financial assistance before.

I work hard in our local school district, but barely cover the cost of our expenses each month. I have tried to find less expensive housing, looking up to an hour away in all directions. In the last several months, my car and my sons car needed unexpected work and my daughter had some higher than usual medical costs. It has put me in the position of not knowing how to pay for heat this month, and I don't know what to do. I need Modest Needs help to pay for last my heating bill and oil bill.

Financially, this grant would allow my family to get out of the hole we are in and be back in the position of at least making ends meet. It would also mean that we will have heat through the winter and not be at risk of freezing if they refuse a future delivery of oil/propane due to lack of payment. Personally, it would be incredibly wonderful to know that someone else cared enough to help us meet a dire need. I would be so grateful!
