My husband and I are beyond grateful, with the generosity of the donors who came through for us, during a very difficult time. We simply cannot thank you enough. My husband and I were going through a very stressful and trying financial time. The most important thing was getting my husbands truck fixed, that he did not tell me until now, how dangerous it was to drive. He needed the tires replaced and work done to it, to accept a job that requires a truck. We simly could not pay for this. I (Lisa) was going through a time of great depression and stress, as I searched for a counselor (at the advise of my supervisor), long story short, I received a referral for modest needs. I am literally in tears, how this has all worked out. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
My Husband Has Just Been Offered a FANTASTIC Job, but He Can't Accept Until Our Car is Fixed. Help!
My Story:
Hello and thank you for reading about us. I live with my husband who is 61 years old. I work full time for the state of Tennessee, and my husband has been out of work since August. As things stand, I've barely been putting food on the table, and we've never been in a worse financial position.
My husband has been diligently looking for work since he was laid off from his former job. Its been hard because of his age, but he has FINALLY been offered a GREAT new job that put us back on track financially. But we have a huge problem. My husband's new job will require him to travel up to 50% of the time. Well, we have two cars, and right now, only one of them (mine) is capable of that kind of travel. I'd let my husband use my car, but I have to have it to commute back and forth to work (I have a long drive). In order to make my husband's truck road-worthy, he'll need both new tires and a few repairs. Thing is, we can't afford to do those repairs until my husband gets paid, BUT my husband won't ever get paid from this job if the truck isn't repaired because he won't be able to accept that job!
We REALLY need Modest Needs' help to pay for the truck repairs we need so that my husband can accept this new job. This is a really good paying job that will finally make us self-sufficient again. We'll even be able to save some money and give back to help others like us. One way or the other, thank you so much for taking time to read this and help us if you can.
