This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeMy girlfriend and I are in tears right now. We are so grateful for everyone who's gotten us here. There are literally no words to express how much we appreciate the kindness, compassion and generosity people who don't even know us have shown. Employers, friends and family have been so cold to us...you'd be shocked if we told you stories about some of the treatment we've received. It's such a great feeling to see that people do care about what happened to my boys and what happens in my life going forward. Just....thank you. Thank you so much for helping us.

My Ex-Wife Drowned My Sons. The Funeral Costs Put Me Behind & We Need Help to Keep Our Home.

My Story:

I'm divorced & live with my girlfriend of one and half years. I'm helping to raise her two girls ages 8 (the diva) and 12 (the artist as well as the kindest person I've ever met). They are like daughters to me and we are very close.

Until last year, I was also the father of two amazing boys who were living with their mother in California (I now live in Montana). In late June of last year, I got the call no father ever wants to get. Both my sons were dead. They'd been murdered by their mother, who drowned them. I dropped everything and flew to California, where I had to bury my sons. In the process, because I was trying to get to California as quickly as I could, I was scammed by a fake, online travel agent who was supposed to book me a last-minute flight to California, but instead took my money and ran.

Montana is a tough place for young families to thrive in but regardless. My girlfriend and I both work in health care, and we save as much as we can every month, but we're also very low income, and between the cost of burying my children, the travel agent who scammed me, the work I lost while I was recovering from their loss and a few other issues I won't go into, we ended up behind on almost every bill we have. We're getting caught up slowly but surely, and most people have been willing to work with us, but we the bills have piled up - electricity, insurance, you name it. Then on top of everything else, we're behind on our house payment, and after everything that's happened, I just don't think I could take it if we lost the home we JUST purchased and worked so hard to afford.

At this point, to say I feel defeated would be an understatement. We are very, very low income and the word defeated is an understatement. Never in a million years did we see such a horrific year coming. Nobody prepares to get the call that your sons are suddenly gone. It's everything I can do just to keep going, and I'm hoping for just the little boost we need to keep our home so that we can get back on track. If you can help us catch up on the mortgage, we can catch up on everything else. Believe me, we won't take any help you can offer for granted. And whether you can help us or not, never forget to hold your love ones close and tell them how special they are. You never when you might never see them again.
