Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

Words honesty can not express how much gratitude I feel! With one day left to receive funding, I prayed to God. I then had a talk with myself just last night saying that it just was not going to happen. I was too far away from the goal and I just began to cry. I woke up in the morning to an email telling me I was funded! All of your precious donations are so very much appreciated by myself and my children. They can go to school every day clean and with clean clothes and it is possible because of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My Husband Walked Out On Our Family of Five. Please Help Us Pay Our Water Bill While We Adjust.

My Story:

I'm a married mother of 5 amazing children. I work as an enrichment school teacher to grades K-8th while I attend college. I'm studying to be a child psychologist. Of my five amazing children, I have 4 sons and 1 daughter, including my youngest child, our baby boy, who was, you know, not exactly 'expected.' (haha!)

My husband and I had not planned to have any more children, both because of my age (I'm getting to the point where having kids is dangerous) and because four kids is enough. But before I could take the steps necessry to make sure I couldn't get pregnant again, I found out I was pregnant! There was no way we weren't going to have that baby. I loved him the second I knew he was alive. But at the same time, because of my age, the pregnancy caused a lot of complications, and I lost a lot of work during that time.

Finally, after I had my son, my husband decided he didn't really want to have a family and just walked out on us. Now, all of a sudden, I've got five kids to take care of on one income, and we were already a little behind on the bills because of the issues with my pregnancy. I'm lucky because I was able to find a better job and my family has helped as much as they can, so we've gotten nearly all of our basic bills caught up, even though money is tight. But we haven't been able to pay our water bill yet, and we've just gotten a cut-off notice.

We are asking Modest Needs to help pay our past due water bill to prevent my family of 6 from being without water for the upcoming holidays. We are currently at risk of service disruption for the past due balance, and we're already on the razor's edge. My husband is causing issues, and if ANYTHING happens to make it look like I can't take care of my kids, I might lose them. Having water is always important but it's EXTRA important to our family right now. So this funding will do a lot more than keep the water on. It'll restore my sense of sanity, reduce the stress that I have been enduring, and go a long way towards making sure I keep my kids during this awful time. This gift would make an amazing contribution to an extremely grateful and thankful family. Thank you.
