Excessive Out of Pocket Costs Piling Up After Hurricane, Please Help With Car Payment

My Story:

I am currently an advocate at a child advocacy center for abused children. I have been married to my husband for 13 years, he suffered a back injury and has been disabled since 2012. I live with my disabled mother, special needs adult brother and am currently help raise my 16 year old sister. I also have two wonderful boys, ages 9 and 12 who are the light of my life and keep me very busy with their sports.

Hurricane Florence caused excessive damage to our home and appliances, that were not covered by FEMA or our home owners insurance. We have had to pay a lot of out of pocket expenses due to this and have fallen behind on almost every bill. In addition to that our HVAC system recently caught fire and we are now without heat or AC. Also our upstairs bathtub cracked and are all sharing one shower until we can afford to fix the broken one. It has been one thing after another and we cannot seem to get ahead. We need Modest Needs help paying our past due car payment that we fell behind on trying to catch up on other things due to the hurricane expenses. We only have one car and cannot afford to lose it as it is the only thing I have to get me to work.

This funding will allow us to keep our only mode of transportation that takes me to work everyday as well as to all the other places that I take my children and family to such as school, doctors appointments, food shopping and the kids to their extra curricular activities.
