I am just so overjoyed and thankful for the Modest Needs community! When I got the email, all I could do was yell out THANKYOU GOD! I did not know what I was going to do or how I could get back on track and without this gift from the Modest Needs community - I would not be able to see the light. My son and I are so grateful beyond words, even as I type this. It has been a rough journey this year, and we are still battling this trauma. I know and pray every day for a healing of our minds and continue strength as we continue to get the counseling that is needed. Single Mother Missed Work to Care for Son After Trauma, Please Save Their Home
My Story:
I am a single mother of my 6 year old son who is in the 1st grade. He keeps me going as I strive to keep him safe and educated. I work hard and I'm finally back at work full time.
Over the summer, I had him in a summer camp to learn a little self defense (Taekwando) and he was sexually assaulted by another child who was 10 years old. I didn't find out until school started and he is around the child in aftercare. I immediately pulled him out and had to abruptly go from full time to part time hours in order to be available to pick him up in the afternoons after school. We are trying to get back to a 'normal' life as we get counseled and pray and trust that God will get us through this. Due to lost hours at work, I suffered some income loss and now we need Modest Needs help for one month rent.
This funding will allow me to position myself back to a place where I can catch up without having to worry about the next thing coming up. Your assistance will allow me to keep my son's home life as normal as possible as we both heal from this trauma. Please help us.
