Emergency Car Engine Repair For Single Mother and Domest Violence Survivor
I am a single mother of a 3 year old boy. I had to leave my career as a juvenile probation officer at 35 weeks pregnant, leaving a domestic violence situation in Washington DC and returned to California where my family was. I live on my own and am independent again. I just started school for my masters program in Criminology Law And Society, which I am paying for out of pocket. I work full time in a temporary position at the university for the past year while going to school. My son is a vibrant, intelligent preschooler who loves learning, Mickey Mouse, Batman, PJ masks, Peppa pig and all kinds of music and art.
I am the sole provider for my household. When I took my car for an oil change they said that I need to replace my timing belt immediately because if the engine breaks my car will be totaled. This is my only mode of transportation to get my son to school and myself to work. I was not able to pay for the repair because I just struggled to pay for school quarter fees, rent and childcare. I need Modest Needs help to pay for my car repair which needs to be done as soon as possible as it is a very serious issue. I am afraid that my car could break down any minute which would put me at risk of losing both my job and my childcare.
If we are blessed enough to receive this funding it would take a great burden off of my shoulders. Your help would show my son to not give up and it would provide an opportunity for me to continue to move forward in my determination to provide the best life for my child. I am hoping to maintain my temporary employment so that I may become permanent so I can have funds in the future for emergency situations such as this. I would be eternally grateful for any assistance in this unexpected situation.
