My Wife Has PTSD. Her Service Dog Has Cancer & Will Die Without Surgery We Can't Afford.

My Story:

I'm a retired veteran, and my wife is are 100% disabled. We live on a fixed income consisting of veteran's benefits and social security retirement. Our son is also disabled and lives with us.

When my wife gave birth to our son years ago, she suffered a horrible trauma. The anesthesiologist didn't sedate her correctly, and my wife was awake for and felt every part of her C-Section. The experience gave her PTSD, and since that time, she's been in therapy and on medication, trying to recover from this terrible experience. But none of the medication or therapy helps her as much as her service dog, Olive. Without Olive, I don't know how my wife would get by.

Not long ago, Olive had to have an emergency hysterectomy, and during the surgery, the doctors discovered that Olive has cancer. My wife was devastated to learn this, both because she's had cancer surgery twice herself, and because she lost her prior service dog to cancer. Now, she's scared to death that she's going to lose Olive, and her life has taken a turn for the worse as a result.

As retirees living paycheck to paycheck, we just have no way to afford the surgery that Olive needs. The vet indicates the surgery should be done as soon as possible to prevent adverse/terminal outcomes in the near future. My wife would be severely affected emotionally if Olive does not survive or is incapacitated. If you could please help us to afford the cost of this surgery, you'd be giving both my wife and Olive the greatest gift you can imagine, the gift of hope.
