This person has left the following thank you note:
I have never reached out to a complete stranger for a hand out. I try so hard to be self sufficient and have a hard time asking people that I am close with for help! Im in complete awe to know that others have such tender and caring hearts. I cant wait for the day to come that I am free of my financial burdens so that I can also help someone in need. This is so humbling and I cannot thank you enough. I have had so much trauma and tragedy in my short life of 26 years. My daughter was recently diagnosed with adhd on top of her trauma. Life is a roller coaster but we continue to ride it! Thank you times a million for shining a light on our loves and giving us such hope!
Single Mother Needs to Keep the Lights on After Summer Break Income Loss
My Story:
I am a single mother of a nine year old. My mother lives in my home and does not work. I support her and my daughter solely. My mother is a recovering alcohol and drug addict. Her anxiety/depression and bipolar diagnosis keep her from working. She cares for my daughter in the mornings while I am at work and gets her ready and off to school. My daughter just entered the fourth grade and she is cheerleading for her elementary school. My daughter is very active. She does have some behavioral issues due to past trauma from her father but she does see a trauma specialist. She is so kind. She gives her food to the homeless when we go to the fast food drive through. She will give the homeless her last dollar from her allowance. She is working hard to control her emotions.
I am a school bus driver for the school district. There was no work for three weeks during summer vacation. I did detail buses for one week when the work was offered. I drove a route for four weeks while summer school is in session. However, there were three full weeks where work was not offered. I have fallen behind drastically on all of my current bills. I have made necessary arrangements with other creditors. Last year I had some financial burdens as well and this mess has caused me to feel depressed.
I have never made one single late rent payment. I need your help with my electric bill, so I can focus on keeping my other bills up to date. This funding will help me to remain current on my monthly bills. I have a small check that I will be paid on August 29th, and then my normal income will be back. It will cover most of my creditor bills and gas to get back and forth to work. I was a bus monitor at my job for the county making $13.30 an hour until April. In April I received my CDL and endorsements to drive the busses. I now make $17.30 an hour. I believe that by the end of September when I receive a full check I will be back on track. I will have a huge feeling of relief. I constantly worry about how on earth I am going to pay my bills during the summer break. I would love to focus solely on my daughter and her well being. I cannot take the best care of her that I am capable of while I am struggling to care for our basic needs.
