This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeIts so great knowing that there are still good people in this world. When I turned to help locally, no help was found. Then, I found Modest Needs and the amazing people that make Modest Needs possible. Through your generous donations, I was able to get the help that I needed. So for that, I am truly thankful. I know that you did not have to give, but you did. You cared for someone that you did not even know and because of that another life was changed. You helped restore my faith in God, in people and in this world. That is something greater than any dollar sign could ever accomplish. Thank you so much for everything, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You are truly amazing and I couldn't thank you enough.

Please Help Single Man Keep Utilities On After Job loss

My Story:

I am a single man who is 33 years of age. I absolutely love God and I love singing on my local worship team. I also am very passionate about helping soldiers that deal with PTSD. I work at a casino in the marketing and promotions department but my dream is to someday work for Homeland Security. I have been applying to work in TSA to get my foot in the door to begin that dream.

I was adopted at a young age and on my 18th birthday I was kicked out of my home and sent to the YMCA to live, my stuff in a trash bag. My parents adopted us for money. I have been on my own ever since and while God has definitely helped me get on my feet, things have been rough. I took a job as a general manager at a restaurant that was re-opening and the owners made promises they could not keep. I would drive anywhere from 60 miles a day and was never reimbursed for gas. Then finally after being demoted, I was then let me go. I was left without a paycheck for about 2 weeks until I gained new employment, but I have fallen behind. The fear of ending up homeless again has caused a lot of stress and depression. I need your help to keep my utilities on.

This funding will help me stay caught up with bills and to be able to continue working. It will help me to begin to move ahead again and to be able to save up so that this doesn't ever happen again. It would honestly restore my faith that there are good people out there and that not everyone abandons you.
