This person has left the following thank you note:
I am sitting here humbled beyond words. I do not even know how to thank a group of people who do not know me, but they found it in their hearts to give to a stranger. My battle with cancer has been horrible. The bills poured in, and I did not know how I would pay them. At times, I was so overwhelmed and felt completely alone and hopeless. A man without hope is a sad thing. Each of you has renewed my faith in humanity. I can only hope and pray that I win this battle with cancer and can help others as you have helped me. I would like to say that each of you has given me the greatest peace of mind that my family will not have to lose our electricity. Many times through my battle with cancer, I have felt like a failure unable to provide for my family. You each have humbled me and made me realize that none of us can do this alone. Sometimes we are the ones reaching for help, and sometimes we are the ones throwing the lifeline. From the bottom of my heart, I deeply thank each of you for throwing me that lifeline, resorting my faith and giving me hope once again. I promise to help others when I am able just as you have done for me and my family today. Thank you once again for this blessing. You are each appreciated more than I could ever say.
Father of 3 Fired for Having Cancer. Please Help Us Keep Our Electric Service!
My Story:
I am a married father of three kids, living with my wife and granddaughter. My wife and I are raising our wonderful 8 year old granddaughter who is the delight of our lives. It is a blessing that we are able to raise our little one, and the joy she brings makes it all worth any sacrifice.
I have been battling cancer since 2014. After working at the same job for 28 years, my employer had a problem with my short term disability and said they had to fire me because I had cancer. Luckily, my pension office intervened and retired me. There have been a lot of medical bills for me and for my granddaughter who also has epilepsy. My wife and I are her legal guardians and we have many medical bills from two people in the house with chronic conditions, which put us behind. We need Modest Needs assistance with our electric bill.
This funding will help us to keep our electric on and keep our budget not track. It will allow us to focus on paying the regular bills each month and enjoying time as a family instead of pacing the floors at night wondering how to keep the lights on. Thank you so much.
As of 2019-06-06, this application has been fully funded!
