Between Working for Amazon and UPS, I Injured My Back & Missed Work. Please Help with Rent!
My Story:
I am a single, 35 year old mother with a teenage son. His dad unfortunately took his own life four years ago and left us in a huge amount of emotional pain. I used to be a stay-at-home mom. Now, I'm employed full time at Amazon and part time with UPS.
The work I do is physically very hard, and I recently injured my back. While I recovered, I had to be on short term disability at about half pay. This created a HUGE financial hardship for us. My physical therapy ends this month, and I'm going to be returning to work full time shortly, but as the sole provider for our household, being out of work caused us to fall behind on rent, and our landlord is threatening to throw us out unless we catch up FAST.
I'm hoping that Modest Needs will be able to help us with one month's rent. If you do, you'll be helping me to keep a roof over my son's and my head. For us, this really is a one time thing. My jobs are hard but the pay is good, and as soon as I'm back to work full time, we won't have any problem affording our regular expenses. But if we lose our home in the meantime, we'll be behind almost forever, so your assistance would mean a lot to us right now. Thank you for thinking of us!
