This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeDear ModestNeeds.Org, To the persons from across the country and around the world who have agreed to help me and my family in our time of need, who have contributed their time and financial assistance to my family cause I thank you from the bottom of my heart. As a survivor of stroke, I know firsthand about struggle and perseverance, something that I and my family were forced to endure. It was a classic example of what we as a people never expect to happen and most often are never prepared for. Unlike my physical condition (partial paralysis) my vehicle can be repaired, but without your kind contributions and empathic altruistic nature, I would be on the streets (homeless and jobless). I am so excited to be a part of a network that is eager to help others especially in the turbulent times in which we live. I can not wait to share my testimony with others, but only to be a light and a source of encouragement. I pray that you all will be blessed for your kind gestures of compassion and love for humanity... God Bless you all and Thank You

Repairing My Car Will Save My Job and Self-Sufficiency

My Story:

I am a divorced father of four children and I am still responsible for their welfare. They are all over the age of 18 and live outside my home though. I am an Incoming Inspector/Supplier Audit Specialist for a medical device manufacturing company. I commute each day for a total of 74 miles each day. I need my vehicle in good condition in order to meet me and my families basic necessities.

I have limited mobility due to surviving a double aneurysm. As a result, the left side of my body has partial paralysis causing a drop-foot on my left ankle. I struggle each month make ends meet and without the car I would not be able to financially provide for me and my family. I was on my way to work one morning when what I thought was a transmission failure turned out to be my rear differential. I needed to have my vehicle towed to the nearest repair shop and use public transportation which is unreliable and the cost is adding up. I need to get my car out of the shop immediately, but I need your help with the repair cost.

I may lose my job and a place to live if I do not receive assistance. I am not eligible for Public assistance. Your grant will allow me to get out of debt, pay my rent on time and rid me of any burden not having transportation has played upon me and my families needs. The impact of receiving your assistance is endless. I could go on and on about how meaningful your help would be for me and my family.
