This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeWe can't even begin to tell you how much of a relief it is to know that we will be sleeping and living in a much safer environment once the deadly trees have been removed. It has been a constant worry for us whenever a storm or strong winds have been forecast. And the worst part, because of the fact that the most deadly pine tree is literally about 4-5 times higher than the house, and within 6 feet of the house, there was technically no safe place to be in the house if the tree came down. Your generous contributions will change the way we live, literally, on a daily basis. No more fear or worries during what would be considered just another rainy or windy day. We sincerely appreciate each and every one of you for making this happen! My wife and I are ecstatic, relieved, and so very grateful to all those people who have answered our need for help. We truly can't thank you enough. The idea that we can sleep in peace, and not worry all the time for us and our dogs, is monumental! We understand that you give with your heart, and that each and every one of you who has offered to help, has given up something to make this possible. Our eyes are filled with tears of joy. Our hearts go out to each of you for the love and compassion you have shown us! Thank you all again, so very, very much.

Retired Couple Needs Dangerous Trees Removed

My Story:

I am a happily married man who is 70 years old and retired. I do have a communications business that I'm trying to build up. My wife is 63 years old and had to take early retirement because she inured her knee last year. We've been together for 40 years. We met at a guitar studio. Although we have no children, we do have two very loving and entertaining 4-legged family members. Kash, who just turned 7 and is part samoyed/shepherd and Beanie who will be 6 next month and is part lab/jack russell.

We have had a tough time this past year as my wife has not been able to work due to her knee. I had a major slip and fall accident in 1992, and between the medical bills for that and the ongoing medical expenses since then, we have exhausted our savings. My wife will need a complete knee replacement once she's physically ready for it. However, because she had to go on early retirement and is unable to work or drive for any length of time, our finances are strained and we have been warned that we have some dead trees that need to be removed, as well as an extremely dangerous, deadly pine tree that is about 6 feet from our back deck. We were told it must come down, but we just don't have the funds. We need your help with this expense.

We have been told by several tree specialists, that it is an extremely deadly and dangerous pine tree and it will more than likely take down the house if it falls. We have had lots of wind and rain and live in fear of it every day. We would love to feel safe in our home, especially during a windy or stormy day. This funding would allow us peace of mind in knowing that not only has a disaster been avoided, but mainly that we and are two pups would be safe. Your help would be a true blessing and we appreciate and are thankful for anyone who may be able to help us with this emergency situation.
