Single Mother Out of Work for Urgent Healthcare, Need Rent Assistance

My Story:

I am a single mother of an 11-year-old daughter who is in the fifth grade. She is an excellent artist who enjoys drawing. She says she wants to be an animator when she grows up. I am currently encouraging her to start painting. She is also a great student with a vivid imagination. She loves reading, writing stories song lyrics. She amazes me! I work full time as a medical biller/auditor at UCLA. I have been at UCLA 12 years this August. I really enjoy my work, as it involves research, problem-solving, and analyzing. My daughter and I are extremely close.

I had a physical in April 2018. Later the same day, my doctor called and told me to go to the ER, as my blood levels were extremely low. At the ER, I received my first blood transfusion. Over the next 6-8 months, I had multiple blood transfusions and iron infusions, and finally surgery in December 2018 due to chronic anemia. I was on disability from December 20, 2018, through January 17, 2019, and I had no vacation time to cash out at work, due to the multiple doctor appointments. I only received one disability check on January 17, 2019, and it was half my regular pay. I was only able to pay my car note and a few bills. I returned to work from my disability leave on January 17, 2019, and received my first check from work on February 6th but it was not for a full 80 hours. I am struggling to pay for February 2019 rent and I need your help.

This funding will bring my rent up to date and I can somewhat be back on track for rent in March. I will also be able to pay my other bills. I am currently looking for part-time work so I can build a savings account. These last two months were so scary. I stressed the entire time I was on disability. I understand how important it is to have savings for situations like this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I thank God for companies like Modest Needs and for people who are able to donate.I too wish to one day be able to give back to those who need.
