This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeWe want to thank everyone who so willingly donated to us so that we could fix the transmission in our van. With this help we will be able to continue to live independently, and no longer have to worry about how to get to any doctors appointments, the grocery store, get to church, and perhaps even take a mini vacation once in a while. We no longer have to be concerned about breaking down in the middle of no where and not having a way to get home. Your giving hearts are confirmations to us that there are still good people in the world. Thank God for you, and we pray that God bestows upon you a rich life of the love and happiness you deserve. God bless you all!

Please Help Retired Couple With Medical Expense

My Story:

My husband and I are both retired and living with disabilities (he's legally blind and I use a wheelchair because of paralysis in both legs). Although we keep trying to find something we can both physically do to make extra dollars, we haven't been able to find anything so far. We've both always worked up until our disabilities deteriorated us to the point of no longer being able to perform. We are still hoping to find a job in hopes that paying rent won't be issue any long. We are living off of our fixed income.

My husband had a heart attack in May 2018 and fell in October resulting in a broken wrist and head injury. I have ongoing medical supplies that I need. My husband also developed extreme anxiety and depression, which treatment costs at the hospital and therapy have accumulated. We have a van that is modified to drive from a wheelchair, but it's very old and is starting to break down. Right now we need repairs on the transmission and have no idea how to pay for it, so it sits most of the time now. With all of our medical problems, the co-pays, specialists, ambulance fees, and any other medical costs have piled up. We need your help with one of our medical expenses.

Receiving this grant would provide a way to pay off some bills that have been accumulating since we've been here. We can breath a little easier knowing we can get ahead enough to be current. We feel like for awhile it has been 3 steps forward and 2 steps back. Your assistance would be a huge blessing for our family.
