Furloughed Employee: Family of 6 Needs Car Repair

My Story:

I am a married mother of two handsome boys. The oldest is 4-years-old and my youngest is 5 months old. They are both very energetic and amusing, affectionate and intelligent. I work full time as a customer service representative for the US Department of the Treasury (furloughed) and my husband is currently only receiving income from Social Security Disability. I also am caring for my 75-year-old mother and my 19-year-old nephew.

I was recently furloughed from my job and have been for the last month. I have not received a paycheck for the that time frame and unfortunately, our household depends on my income to maintain a minimally comfortable lifestyle. I have recently filed for bankruptcy a have agreed to voluntarily release my car to the financier. That will leave us with no working vehicle for when I do return to work. We have a car currently in the shop that needs $1500 worth of work. This would give us the transportation we need to get our son to school and me to work or even use it to look for other employment. We need Modest Needs help with this repair.

This funding would provide a level of stability to our family. It would afford us the ability to seek more meaningful gainful employment that sometimes is limited to its accessibility. Transportation sometimes is required.
