User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeIn all honesty, I am trying to hold back tears of joy as I write this. Mere words could never convey my deepest and sincerest gratitude for your assistance during this very difficult time! It's such a wonderful feeling to know that there are other people out there that I care and I am not alone. I am a person who really strive to be independent and work hard, but this dire financial crisis due to the shutdown is a situation that I couldn't control. Thank you so much for your help and I definitely plan to 'pay it forward ' whenever I get back on my feet again.

Government Shut-down, Single Woman Needs Help With Rent

My Story:

I am a single female with no children. I have been with the federal government for a year now. I work part time to support myself.

I have worked with various branches of the government most of my life. I currently am employed with a particular branch that has over 85% of its staff adversely affected by the recent shutdown. I was up to date on my rent until this unexpected event happened. Now I need help keeping a roof over my head.

I fear that I will lose my place and end up homeless if it gets too far behind. I have no place to go if this happens, as I do not have family or friends that I can depend on. This funding will help me maintain my apartment until I can find additional/replacement employment. I am tirelessly working to try and obtain another job that will help me regain financial stability.
