Veteran and Single Father Needing Assistance With Utilities After VA Withheld Pay
My Story:
I am a single father raising a four year old son as his mother walked out on us shortly after giving birth to him. I�m waiting to get approved from Capella University to finish my bachelors degree in Business Management through the GI BILL.
I had my living expenses budgeted with my VA disability check and GI BILL housing. But in June 1 of this year I had my VA payment stopped due to recoupment of severance pay. I have exhausted the savings I had and on the verge of losing my car, phone and internet which is crucial for my schooling and for taking my sons to appointments and etc. I will not start receiving my VA disability income until November. Due to not having anyone to help out with my son I cannot work a job because I cant afford the cost of a babysitter or daycare. Please help us with my phone bill.
I exhausted the last of my savings on rent and fear I will lose my vehicle, phone and internet which is crucial for my coursework, to keep in touch with the VA and child appointments. This funding will help me cover my bill expenses for this month and in the long run will help me earn my degree to pursue a career to better me and my son. Thank you.
