This person has left the following thank you note:
Thank you so much for your assistance! I am 90 percent finished with a Veterinary Technology course that requires I have the ability to work an internship. Not only have the people who helped assisted me with getting to work, they have assisted me with this endeavor.Once I complete school and my internship I may be able to work more hours in this field by working in a laboratory environment. This will possibly enable me in getting off of disability. I currently work as a Veterinary Assistant at Animal Care and Protective Services part time. After school I will be a Certified Veterinary Technician which will increase my value in my current position as well. Because I work my medicare now comes out of my SSD check and they took several months at once throwing me behind on all of my bills. This assistance is greatly appreciated. My neighbors, that I take to the food bank, also sent their thanks. They are senior citizens and rely heavily on the foodbank to make ends meet. You have assisted multiple people by assisting one person. I believe in the pay it forward theory and will not forget this gracious assistance. Thank You Cheryl
Single Disabled Woman Needs Help With Car Payment in Order to Keep Her Job
My Story:
I am disabled but choose to work. I am going to school to get my Vet Tech certification and I work part time for the City of Jacksonville Florida as a Vet assistant at Animal Care and Protective Services. I enjoy my job and do not want to lose it. I have difficulty walking distances and could not use a bus as work transit.
I have had surgery on my right knee twice in life. I recently re-injured that leg and missed 10 days of work unpaid. Without my paycheck, I cannot pay my car payment or insurances. I live paycheck to paycheck and do not have any support or savings to fall back on in times of need. I am struggling not to fall behind on a month to month basis. I am facing more time off work in the future for MRIs etc. I am unable to cover my car payment this month, and need Modest Needs help.
If I lose my car I will not be able to drive to medical appointments, pursue my internship for my Vet Tech certification or get to work on a daily basis. If I can not get to work I will lose my apartment and become homeless as well. This funding would keep my car payment current. It would help me to maintain my independence and help me to provide for myself and others. I would be able to keep my job and finish school. My long term goal is to become independent again. Possibly be free of being on disability. I also use my car to help others by giving neighbors rides to the food bank and medical appointments when I can.
