This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI wanted to take a moment and say thank you to each and every one of you all who helped my family with the request. It's often hard sometimes to put my gratitude to generosity into words, because I feel like 'thank you' just doesn't do the tremendous help that this has done for my family. When you get to a point in your life where you're having to ask for financial assistance for the first time, it's an extremely humbling experience. I just kept feeling embarrassed and ashamed for not being able to provide for my all of my family's needs. However, the process that this funding has helped me go through, it has shown me others who have needs just like mine. It doesn't mean that we did anything wrong, but that we're doing what we have to in order to protect and take care of our family. Thank you so much for being there for my family when many others in my life were unable to support us financially at this time. I hope that you all truly understand what a blessing each and everyone one of you all have been on my family in this time of need. Thank you!! Ellen & Family

Family Needs Mortgage Assistance After Court Fees to Protect Child

My Story:

I'm a married mother of 2 beautiful daughters. I was recently married in March to my husband who has a 6 year old daughter from a previous marriage and he lovingly accepted me and my 2 year old daughter who's father abandoned us before she was born. Our 6 year old is a very smart and beautiful girl and she loves to color and sing. My 2 year old is in her, ever so famous, terrible 2's from time to time, but the girls both play well together and love spending time with our lab puppy, Diesel. My husband is a hard working tool tech at a hardware store and I work in telecommunications.

Our 6 year old goes to visit her biological mother during school breaks. This past summer, her mother falsified medical documents and put our daughter on ADHD medication without my husband's permission. We have primary physical custody of our daughter and these types of decisions are not permitted without consent from both parents. We do not believe in these types of medications and did not approve of this. Later in the summer my husbands ex-wife file a protection order on us by claiming false allegations on us which prevented us from picking our daughter up at the designated time at the end of the summer in order to get her back to school. Our daughter had to miss 2+ weeks of school and my husband had to fly back and forth to Idaho for court dates. In the end his ex-wife was forced to drop the protection order because they saw through her false claims. The travel expenses for the flights back and forth to Idaho along with hospitality and transportation during these trips has set us behind. My husband had to miss several weeks of work in order to travel and attend 3 separate court dates. We've had to pay multiple lawyer fees just to assist us as defendants but we finally have our daughter back home and back in school now. We need your help with our mortgage payment.

This funding will allow for something in our lives to be consistent. We've been on an emotional roller coaster and finances have been a huge pain point for my husband and I. If we had assistance with just one month of our mortgage, we could get some of our other debts we incurred from the travel paid off. In the end, this would result in possibly saving our daughter from further emotional or physical pain and help us to keep her home safe in Georgia. Through this I want my daughters to see how hard family works to keep each other safe and that we can rely on one another to get through anything.
