Single Hardworking Woman Caring for Mother Needs Rental Help
My Story:
I work full time as a case worker for CPS. I also take care of my mother who is disabled. She had a stroke a few years ago, which she recovered from rather well, but has still been dealing with the effects of that as well as working to manage her diabetes. In the midsts of this she was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. It has been tough to juggle work and caring for her, but I have managed.
While working to address her needs my dog suffered a spinal cord injury which left him paralyzed for a week. He is recovering from that and doing fine overall. Prior to his injury he was diagnosed with a luxating patella, something that is typically manageable with diet, exercise, and medication, but did not help his situation when learning to walk again. I have another dog that is a great companion for my aforementioned older dog and, thankfully, has no health problems. I am able to manage my monthly bills although I do have to make payment arrangements from time to time. My dog's spinal cord injury and the resulting vet bills put me behind this past month. I need Modest Needs help with my rental payment.
Getting evicted would be very undesirable for both me and my dogs, but out of the question for my mother who uses several machines daily to manage her medical health including a machine to do peritoneal dialysis at home. This funding would keep me current on my rent which would allow my mother, my pets and myself to remain in my home. My current job is steady (I have been there almost two years) and I continue to do good work in my field and receive recognition regularly. This funding would provide stability for my mother who needs a safe home and room of her own to manage her medical needs while she waits for a new kidney and a place to recover after receiving one.
