Recent College Grad Needs Help With Vital Car Repair
My Story:
I am a recent Master of Social Work graduate. I attended the University of Michigan. I practice social work in Detroit, working with people living with HIV. In my free time, I advocate for the Alzheimer's Association (lost my mom to the disease in 2013, write, spend time with my family, and serve in my sorority, Zeta Phi Beta.
After graduation in December, I was unemployed until March, and was not paid for the first time until April. I have a lot of bills to catch up on from the time that I was unable to pay them. Additionally, nearly $150,000 of student loans entered repayment this month. The most pressing issue for me right now is fixing my car. The condenser needs to be replaced so that the AC functions properly. I have asthma, and struggle with anxiety that can cause shortness of breath/panic attacks. Because I commute an hour each way for work, being unable to cool my vehicle doesn't just create discomfort, it creates health and safety concerns. I really need Modest Needs� help with this cost.
My biggest fear is that I will have an asthma or panic attack while driving and caused unsafe conditions for myself and others. Financially, assistance would be extremely helpful to me. On a personal level, your help would relieve the anxiety I have about driving, and about money in general. Being able to have one less thing to stress about will help me to sleep better, be calmer, and remain focused at work.
