Single Woman Supporting Herself Needs Rental Help After Employment Gap

My Story:

I am a single professional with no children. I'm very active in my community, and the 'fun' aunt to 5 nieces and 3 nephews that I get to care for regularly. I have two rescue dogs and four rescue cats. I was just hired by the State Government, and I'm beyond excited to have a job that has security, benefits, and retirement while paying a great, living wage.

In 2017, I worked for a great company making state park camping reservations. We were told that at the end of the year, we could file unemployment until we were called back in March. Sadly, we weren't called back and the company was transferred to Michigan. So I began taking every job I could get. I'm currently working part time for a friend's company, but did just get hired by the State of Maryland DNR. I've used all of my savings keeping my bills paid, but I'm now 2 months behind on rent. The tags on my car are also expired, and I've been trying to save up the money to get them renewed so I can continue to get to work. If I can get help with my rent, then future paychecks can pay the cost to renew my tags, and I can get back to normal. I need Modest Needs help.

I will soon be faced with eviction if I cannot find the funding, and will be homeless with all my pets. I can't put into words what this help will do for me. I stress every day that there will be a letter on my door telling me to leave. I have a great relationship with my landlord, but the stress is there. This help would mean I can use my next paychecks to pay to get my tags renewed, and then not worry about driving illegally. I can get a decent nights sleep, stop begging people for odd jobs, stop selling my belongings to try and get my head above water. I would forever pay this forward, in the form of volunteer hours at our local Habitat for Humanity house being built.
